From the Inside - Your Neglected Computer
Most people never clean the inside of their desktop or tower computers. The images here show what happens over the course of four years in a house that is kept very clean.
If you click on these images you'll get a larger view. If you are allergic to the sight of dust and cobwebs I strongly suggest you avert your eyes.

While disgusting and comical, letting your computer get this dirty is extremely bad for it's health as well as making it a potential fire hazard. The computer in these shots was so full of dust and other particles that the fans could barely spin, and their motors were straining 24/7. Dust also covers heat dissipation surfaces and vents, which keeps all of the fragile components at life reducing temperatures.
A computer this dirty is likely to have random crashes and freezing due to it's overheating components. If your computer is crashing and freezing, perhaps you should have a look inside.
How do you clean a mess like this? Use compressed air, or a hand vacuum (try the blow setting first - sucking with too much force can cause damage!).
