Mac OS X on the Dell Mini 9
Tired of waiting for Apple to make a netbook? Don't.Gizmodo posted a how-to a while back on getting Mac OS 10.5 installed on a Dell Mini 9. The walk through is detailed and clearly written, so I'm sure you can do it yourself. If not, feel free to comment here and I'll see how I can help.
The Dell Mini 9 has now been discontinued officially, but Dell often sells them for short periods of time. There is also E-Bay and the Dell Outlet for scoring your own. You can also look for the "Vostro A90" which is basically the same machine marketed differently.
Save some money on the hard drive (it's actually an SSD) by ordering one from Newegg and installing it yourself. 16GB, 32GB.
You will also need a USB DVD drive for this job. Order one from Newegg, or borrow one from a friend.
One last thing... be sure to use a retail copy of OS X "Leopard." This makes the process much easier and much closer to legit.
