TinyMCE Valid Elements Wordpress Plugin prevents stripped code

I recently tried to embed a google maps iframe in a Wordpress post and was dismayed to find out that the visual editor strips out all iframe code.  Unlike Drupal, Wordpress has no administrative tool to easily set allowed tags in the editor.  As a workaround I installed the TinyMCE Valid Elements plugin and added "iframe" along with all of the parameters google maps needs to it's settings.
I used plugin version 0.3 on Wordpress 2.8.5.

Don't Paste From Word

Microsoft Word may be a relatively safe and familiar tool for you, but it is not very friendly when it comes to creating content for the web.  If you are editing or adding content to your site in Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, or any other web-based wysiwyg editor:

Don't copy and paste from Microsoft Word!

Word creates a lot of ugly code that gets copied and pasted into these editors.  The results can be disastrous.

So You Want to Edit Your Own Web Site...
