Microsoft Word may be a relatively safe and familiar tool for you, but it is not very friendly when it comes to creating content for the web.  If you are editing or adding content to your site in Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, or any other web-based wysiwyg editor:

Word creates a lot of ugly code that gets copied and pasted into these editors.  The results can be disastrous.

Drupal's biggest hurdle, from a client's user interface perspective, is the dearth of acceptable rich text editors.  Wordpress comes with a fantastic editor preinstalled that has robust multimedia tools as well.  Drupal?  Drupal gives you an empty field by default.  If you want to easily upload, embed, and manipulate images in your posts you need to do some serious module installing and configuring.
